Research outline
During my scientific career I have designed and carried out scientific research in numerous areas of Theoretical Physics, with a specific focus in Condensed Matter Physics, Statistical Mechanics, Superconductivity, theoretical aspects of superconducting devices and exactly solvable systems.
Recently I have developed a special interest in building science into EU policy. I firmly believe that science is central to many aspects of modern life and that an appreciation of the scientific dimension is a pre-requisite to wise policy-making.
Therefore, I am interested in maximising the impact of evidence-based scientific advice into EU key policy priorities throughout the policy cycle, especially in the areas of Research and Energy.
